Due to our continued growth we require an experienced and ambitious Video Technician to manage our video inventory keeping it in first class working order and to contribute to our design processes. The technical and operations department is fast paced and works closely with Production, Events and Creative teams to provide a professional and efficient service from beginning to end of each project.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain Smyle’s video equipment for deployment on live events to the highest standard
  • Prepare Video Equipment based on Equipment Pick Lists for use on site.
  • Check Smyle equipment on return from site for damage and report to hire or Production Managers any damage
  • PAT Test Video and other equipment in accordance with Smyle’s electrical safety policies
  • Check sub hired equipment prior to it going on site to ensure it is correct and functions appropriately.
  • Check sub hired equipment on return from site prior to return to supplier to ensure it is complete and report any defects
  • Where it does not leave a shortage of resource in the warehouse; design, specify, install and operate video systems for Smyle events.
  • Assist hire team in assessing new video Equipment and inform the procurement process on the investment in new lighting products
  • All other duties appropriate to the role

  • Experience of working with Video equipment in a live environment
  • Team player and proven problem solver
  • Experience with Microsoft and/or G-Suites office packages
  • Experience of working a busy warehouse environment
  • Forklift Licence
  • Experience with AutoCAD / Vectorworks
