The role is positioned within an exciting and growing department that works closely with Production and Creative teams to bring our ideas to reality. You will take a lead role in assessing, planning and costing for scenic elements on a wide range of live event projects, providing a professional, efficient and quality service in partnership with our project teams, to our clients. 

Location - Hertford (minimum 3 days per week)


Key Accountabilities


  • Be the go to person on projects owning the scenic / build elements from brief, through development and costing, to delivery
  • Act as a crucial role between creative and workshop to interpret visuals and drawings provided by the creative team to develop costings and have construction drawings developed by draughting team to agreed spec and budget.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines ensuring that all teams are kept up to date.
  • Brief draughting teams at each phase of the project lifecycle.
  • Brief either the Smyle Workshop manager or an external third party Scenic contractor to ensure that the correct level of resource is designated to each project.
  • Be a central part of the onsite delivery team working with the Site Crew Chiefs to ensure a smooth construction and deconstruction.
  • Maintain CPD and stay abreast of trends and materials including any sustainable initiatives
  • Comply with the company's Health and Safety policies at both concept and delivery phases.
  • All other duties appropriate to the role

About You 

  • Scenic Project Management experience on large and complex builds
  • Team player and proven problem solver
  • Confident communicator able to develop and discuss concepts in conjunction with creative, events and production teams 
  • Good Negotiator 
  • A solid understanding of AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks.
  • Experience with Microsoft and/or G-Suites office packages
